MalekianCloughton is an artistic collaboration between Nadia Malekian (b.1994, Glasgow) and Beth Cloughton (b. 1995, York), who have a shared passion for discovering and highlighting the many layers of our social and physical environment. What began as a collaboration bound by living in the same city of Glasgow, their practice has evolved since Nadia
has moved to Copenhagen, adapting to the distance but also embracing the opportunity to work in new ways. Nadia has an architecture and
printmaking background, and works predominantly with the screenprinting medium to allow for experimentation and new discoveries where layers, colours, forms and patterns intersect. Beth has recently obtained a PhD in social sciences, and has a background in Fine Art and creative, participatory research methods. Their distinct yet complementary artistic practices combine to create artworks that are palimpsests of the contexts they both live in.
